Position Overview
Coconut Row is seeking a motivated and adaptable Chef who is eager to learn and capable of managing the dinner shift — our most straightforward service period. This role is ideal for a hands-on culinary professional who is developing their leadership skills and is ready to grow within a structured kitchen environment.
The successful candidate will support daily kitchen operations, maintain food quality standards, and work collaboratively with the team. While prior leadership experience is an asset, this role focuses more on reliability, consistency, and a willingness to learn rather than full kitchen oversight
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items to a consistent standard.
- Take responsibility for managing the dinner shift efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper kitchen practices.
- Follow established recipes, portion control, and presentation standards.
- Support training and assist team members when needed.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
- Assist with basic inventory handling and stock rotation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a restaurant environment.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to manage a shift with minimal supervision (training will be provided).
- Basic knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
- Valid Food Handling Certification (preferred).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
- Daily Rate: $90 – $110 (based on experience)
