We are seeking a professional, experienced Operations Manager to oversee our daily hotel operations and ensure that our property, staff, and guest experience consistently meet the highest standards.

 

Position Overview

The Operations Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the entire hotel, ensuring operational excellence across all departments — accommodations, restaurant, grounds, maintenance, tours, and guest services. This position requires exceptional organization, leadership, accountability, and communication skills.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Guest Experience: Maintain the highest standard of guest service from inquiry to checkout; ensure all guest needs are promptly and professionally handled.
  • Property & Asset Management: Oversee the upkeep of all property assets including buildings, vehicles, boats, and equipment; manage preventive maintenance schedules and follow through on repairs.
  • Grounds & Maintenance: Ensure the property, gardens, and public areas are immaculate and well maintained at all times.
  • Restaurant Operations: Work closely with the restaurant personnel to ensure daily checklists, food prep, service standards, and inventory controls are consistently executed.
  • Housekeeping & Rooms: Guarantee that all rooms meet cleanliness and readiness standards before guest arrival.
  • Financial Oversight: Ensure daily paperwork flow is followed, with income and expenses accurately recorded and submitted; monitor inventory orders to obtain approval and ensure purchases in a timely manner.
  • Team Leadership: Conduct daily briefings and regular departmental meetings; maintain open communication and accountability among staff.
  • Project Oversight: Track all ongoing maintenance and improvement projects; review progress weekly with owners.
  • Administrative Management: Ensure employee schedules are submitted on time, operational records are maintained, and inter-departmental communication is seamless.
  • Reporting: Provide daily operational updates and weekly overviews to the owners.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in hospitality or resort operations (preferably boutique or upscale property).
  • Proven ability to lead diverse teams and maintain high service standards.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of QuickBooks, Google Workspace, and hotel reservation systems (ThinkReservations experience is a plus).
  • Must be highly reliable, proactive, and capable of managing multiple departments simultaneously.
  • Ability to live in or near Hopkins, Belize, and work on-site full time.
