Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all maintenance operations of the resort, ensuring that guest rooms, common areas, equipment, and infrastructure are maintained in excellent condition. This position supervises maintenance staff and contractors, ensures compliance with safety standards, and performs hands-on technical work, including electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and light construction.
The goal is to guarantee a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment that supports exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintenance & Repairs
- Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance across the resort.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, plumbing systems, HVAC units, appliances, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform carpentry, painting, drywall, tiling, and minor construction works as needed.
- Ensure guest rooms are inspected and ready before check-ins.
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues.
- Electrical & HVAC Oversight
- Ensure all electrical systems comply with local codes and safety regulations.
- Supervise installation and maintenance of AC systems.
- Maintain generators, pumps, and other critical systems.
- Coordinate with certified contractors when required.
- Supervision & Coordination
- Supervise maintenance staff and assign daily tasks.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping and Front Desk for room status updates.
- Work with management on renovation projects and improvements.
- Monitor contractors working on the property.
- Preventive Maintenance Program
- Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule.
- Keep records of maintenance activities.
- Track inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
- Control maintenance budget and recommend cost-saving measures.
- Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
- Maintain fire systems, emergency lighting, and safety equipment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals and tools.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Technical diploma or certification in Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Valid Electrical License (required).
- Valid Air Conditioning / Refrigeration License (required).
- Certification in Plumbing (preferred).
- Occupational Safety certification (preferred).
- Valid Driver’s License.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in resort, hotel, or commercial property maintenance.
- Proven experience supervising a maintenance team.
- Experience in construction, carpentry, and renovation projects.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical and HVAC systems.
Technical Skills
- Electrical wiring and panel troubleshooting.
- AC installation, servicing, and gas handling.
- Plumbing repair and installation.
- Carpentry and light construction.
- Generator and pump maintenance.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
