Join Our Team as Finance Manager/Controller at Seiri Del Mar
Are you a seasoned finance professional looking for an exciting opportunity in a beautiful, tropical setting? Seiri del Mar, a luxury resort nestled in Hopkins, Belize, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Manager/Controller to join our team.
As our Finance Manager/Controller, you’ll be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the resort. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
- Oversee internal controls to safeguard resort assets.
- Manage cash flow and financial forecasting.
- Work closely with department heads to optimize financial performance.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to management
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree or CPA (or equivalent designation) is an asset
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 2 years in a management or controller role
Experience in the hospitality or resort industry is highly desirable
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or hospitality-specific platforms)
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and reporting
Hands-on experience with financial reporting, general ledger management, and month/year-end closing processes
Ability to lead or supervise a small finance team
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Fluency in English required; Spanish is a plus
