Position Overview:
We are looking for a qualified candidate to join our team as an Accounting Assistant in our offices in San Pedro, with a competitive salary ranging from 300 to 500 USD per week, depending on your experience.
An Accounting Clerk is a vital member of the finance team responsible for assisting with various financial tasks and maintaining accurate financial records. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting operations, supporting senior accountants, and ensuring that financial transactions are recorded, processed, and documented accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Data Entry and Record Keeping:
– Enter financial data into accounting software or spreadsheets, including invoices, receipts, expenses, and other financial transactions.
– Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and databases to ensure accuracy and completeness.
2. Accounts Payable and Receivable:
– Process and record accounts payable transactions, including verifying invoices, matching purchase orders, and issuing payments.
– Assist in monitoring and following up on accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection of payments from customers.
3. Reconciliation:
– Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of recorded transactions and resolve discrepancies.
– Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable records with vendor and customer statements.
4. Reporting:
– Generate financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
– Assist in preparing various financial reports for management or external stakeholders.
5. General Bookkeeping:
– Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, including journal entries and adjustments.
– Maintain and organize financial documents, both physical and electronic.
6. Administrative Support:
– Provide general administrative support to the finance department, such as filing documents, answering phone calls, and responding to emails.
7. Compliance and Regulations:
– Assist in ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
– Keep up to date with accounting standards and changes in financial regulations.
8. Audit Assistance:
– Collaborate with auditors during internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
– Educational Background: Minimum of an associate degree or higher in accounting or finance.
– Previous Experience: Prior experience in an accounting or finance-related role is beneficial.
– Computer Skills: Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel is essential.
– Attention to Detail: Accuracy in data entry and record-keeping is crucial.
– Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines effectively.
– Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and communicate financial information clearly.
– Analytical Abilities: Basic analytical skills to interpret financial data and identify discrepancies or trends.
– Integrity: As an accounting clerk, you may handle sensitive financial information, so maintaining confidentiality and integrity is vital.
