Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a motivated Designer to join our team, specializing in domestic timber frame buildings. This entry-level role involves utilizing design software such as SketchUp, Photoshop, and Lumion. The successful candidate will undergo training to develop exceptional designs and models for timber frame construction. If you hold an associate’s degree in architecture and possess a solid foundation in AutoCAD, this is an exciting opportunity to launch your career in design and architecture.

Primary Responsibilities:
● Collaborate with the design team to create timber frame building models.
● Develop and modify designs using SketchUp.
● Enhance design presentations with Photoshop.
● Utilize Lumion for 3D rendering and visualization.
● Assist in project research and development.
● Contribute to the creation of design documents.
● Attend design meetings.

Qualifications:
● Associate’s degree in architecture.
● Proficiency in AutoCAD.
● Enthusiastic about learning new design software (SketchUp, Photoshop, Lumion).
● Strong problem-solving and creativity skills.
● Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
● Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written).
● Attention to detail and a passion for architectural design.
● Adaptability to changing project requirements.
● Self-motivated and eager to develop new design skills.
● Multi-tasking and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

Probation, Hours and Wages:
● Operational hours: 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
● Expected annual salary (first year): $19,113 Belize Dollars.
● Salary adjustments based on performance.
● Probationary period: First sixty workdays with basic flat wages.
○ Probationary Wages Bracket: Bracket 2: Mid-level candidates – $6.00/hour.

The hiring committee will review resumes and, if suitable, schedule a site visit. During the unpaid one-day “Site Visit,” applicants will be assessed for their skills, and abilities. The site visit allows applicants familiarity with the company and its goals. Successful applicants will be notified within 3 weeks of their site visit.
