Job Description

Terms of Reference for Accountant

Objective: The accountant will be responsible for managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in
financial records, and providing financial analysis and information to support decision-making.

Responsibilities:
a. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
b. Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow
statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
c. Recording, classifying, and summarizing financial transactions and events in accordance with
accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
d. Process invoices, receipts, and payments.
e. Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
f. Prepare and Manage payroll for Management Staff
g. Prepare and submit tax returns in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
h. Provide financial reports and analysis to support business decisions.
i. Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasting information.
j. Ensure compliance with accounting standards, established financial and accounting policies and
procedures.
k. Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and best practices.
l. Key liaison between the SSB and external auditors by assisting in the preparation and consolidation
of information for external auditors for annual audits.

Qualifications:
a. Minimum of Master’s degree in accounting or finance with 5 -10 years working experience within the
Finance or Accounting field.
b. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification would be considered an asset
c. Proven experience in accounting or related roles.
d. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

 

Reporting:
The accountant will report to the Manager – Finance Services

Confidentiality: The accountant is expected to maintain the confidentiality of financial information and
company data.
