Job Description
A leading international investment firm currently looking to recruit an Executive Director. The role is suitable for a dynamic individual who tackles matters with a hands on approach, whilst boasting leadership qualities under the regulatory requirements of Belize FSC. The successful candidate will run the day-to-day operations of the Company.
All applicants should have prior managerial/directorship experience within a regulated investment firm.
Executive Director
- Type: Permanent, Full-time position
- Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
- Location: 28 Regent Street, Belize City, Belize
Role Responsibilities
- Day to day operations for managing the office.
- Responsibility for the correct implementation of the relevant laws and FSC regulations.
- Submission of all regulatory reports to the FSC.
- Monitoring of the Company’s capital adequacy and Risk Management function.
- Knowledge of FSC and compliance procedures in agreement with FSC regulations.
- Liaising with all relevant business and support areas within the Firm.
- Reviewing new regulations and advising on necessary actions to be taken, whilst liaising with Regulatory Authorities and ensuring that reporting obligations towards them are fulfilled.
- Monitoring the adequacy and effectiveness of the measures and procedures of the Firm.
- Communicating the relevant statutes of the internal procedures to each employee and notify them of any relevant changes therein that relates to his/her role and responsibilities in the Firm.
- Developing, designing and re-designing the appropriate procedures of the Firm, as to prevent and resolve potential conflicts of interest, ensuring that all the procedures regarding the Firm’s conflict of interest policy are in place, as well as establishing and maintaining Chinese Walls procedures between the various organizational units of the Firm. Regular checks will be performed to ensure the latter.
Role Qualifications
- BSc/MSc in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law or related filed or
- Professional Qualification in Finance/Banking, Investment Operations and/or Compliance will be considered a plus.
- At least five (5) years of experience in managerial/directorship role in a Regulated Investment Firm.
- Extensive knowledge of the forex industry, in various positions previously held.
- Strong working knowledge of Belize’s financial services laws, including the FSC Act.
- Familiarity with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financial of Terrorism (CFT) regulations.
- In-depth knowledge of log analysis, creation of security incident response plans and investigation.
- Must be eligible to reside and work in Belize.
- Proactive and natural decision maker.
- Fluent knowledge of the English Language (Written & Spoken).
