The Lead Coordinator/Dispatch is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily dispatch operations, ensuring efficient scheduling, communication, and coordination of drivers, shipments, and deliveries. This role is vital in maintaining the smooth flow of operations, Timely delivery, and exceptional service to clients. The Lead Coordinator also acts as a liaison between drivers, customers, and other departments to resolve issues and optimize operational efficiency.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch Operations: Manage the day-to-day dispatch of drivers and vehicles,
    ensuring that all routes are optimized for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Scheduling: Develop and maintain driver schedules, balancing workloads while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers, customers, and internal teams. Address and resolve delivery issues, delays, or driver concerns in a Timely manner.
  • Tracking: Monitor the status of deliveries and vehicle locations using GPS tracking systems, ensuring Timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Problem Solving: Handle unforeseen challenges such as delays, accidents, or changes in customer requirements, providing solutions that minimize disruption.
  • Compliance: Ensure all drivers are compliant with safety regulations, including hours of service, vehicle inspections, and company policies.
  • Reporting: Provide daily, weekly, and monthly reports on dispatch performance, driver productivity, and key metrics to management.
  • Team Leadership: Train and mentor dispatch staff, ensuring all team members are aligned with company standards and operational goals.
  • Customer Service: Maintain excellent relationships with clients, addressing any concerns, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
