PathLight Belize is a faith-based, non-governmental organization (NGO) with a mission to transform Belize by educating and developing the next generation of leaders. We fulfill this vision through three core programs: Teacher Training, Sponsorship Plus, and Community Partners. In partnership with the Government of Belize, we aim to ensure that 100% of teachers are fully trained and that more than 60% of students graduate from secondary school. Position Summary
The Director of Sponsorship Plus Program is a senior leadership position within PathLight Belize and plays a vital role in overseeing the consistent implementation and continued growth of the program across the country. Currently operating from resource centers in Belize City, Orange Walk, and Belmopan, the program is set to expand to Dangriga in Summer 2026. With this growth comes the need for increased consistency, systems alignment, and strategic leadership. The Director will provide nationwide leadership for the program, ensuring the PathLight model is consistently implemented across all centers and aligned with PathLight Belize’s mission and values
Supervisory Role:
The Director directly supervises the Sponsorship Plus Program Managers in each district. These Managers oversee the daily operations of the program at their respective resource centers.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Oversight
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure that each student receives a comprehensive standard of services—academic, economic, spiritual, social, and emotional.
- Analyze student performance data to identify trends and make evidence-based recommendations to improve program quality, especially the afterschool components.
Social Research Leadership
- Lead the Spiritual Formation and Character Development research initiative in partnership with PathLight International and Indiana Wesleyan University.
- Ensure research protocols are followed, train relevant staff and collaborators, oversee data collection, and support analysis and reporting.
Leadership Development
- Support the Leadership Plus Program in building partnerships with public and private sector organizations to enhance opportunities for high-performing students (top 10–15%).
- Assist students with scholarship and job application processes, including interview preparation.
- Help develop grant proposals to secure funding for Leadership Plus activities.
- Psychosocial and Economic Support
- Oversee the timely documentation and distribution of student financial aid (“alms”).
- Monitor the effectiveness of the psychosocial support services offered to students.
Grants and Resource Mobilization
- Draft and contribute to proposals for local and international funding opportunities.
- Collaborate with PathLight’s grant writer on larger cross-functional proposals involving multiple programs.
Training and Capacity Building
- Lead regular planning and coordination meetings with Program Managers.
- Organize and facilitate national training sessions for Sponsorship Plus staff to ensure program alignment and excellence.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date student records in PathLight’s Salesforce platform.
- Generate and upload monthly Sponsorship Plus and Leadership Plus reports to Salesforce dashboards.
Administration and Budgeting
- Submit monthly wire requests to support program operations.
- Monitor budget spending and align financial requests with the approved budget.
- Collaborate with Program Managers to plan and develop the annual Sponsorship Plus budget.
Other Duties
Serve as a Brand Ambassador for PathLight Belize, modeling professionalism and dedication both on and off the job.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with adolescents and youth in an institutional setting.
- At least five (5) years of experience in a leadership or management role.
- Strong rapport with young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Proven experience and skills in social research.
- Excellent critical thinking and writing abilities.
- High level of digital literacy.
Salary Range:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
